We each open to our gifts differently and in our own time. For me, there has always been a knowing. Something just feels right about an idea that comes to me. I seldom hear voices; rather, I see small videos in my head, similar to ‘Vine’ on your cell phone. I receive feelings, known as empathy. I notice behaviors because I have been around animals intensely all my life, and I am a natural observer.
I find that when I move into the applied kinesiology phase of a consult, I open to the realm of intuition. I use my practical, veterinary problem-solving self to gently guide the exploration into the furry beings’ physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental problems. The kicker is that there is no end point. Once I make myself available to the experience of intuition, my world expands, and my life experience improves. There are endless possibilities in this universe, and therefore infinite tools to initiate the healing that is asked for.
So… why do I consider myself an animal interpreter?
An interpreter is one who understands in a particular way. I come at this understanding from several directions at one time, working with the individual dog or cat to create a full understanding, if possible. My intention is to be of service to the individual and his or her person.
I love teaching people ways to open to their own intuition and more deeply connect with their animal companions. For more on this, see these posts:
I close with this thought: We all are animal interpreters, and our interpretive gifts are ever unfolding.
