Your dog or cat’s first appointment at Sunvet Animal Wellness Clinic sets the foundation for the individualized, holistic care we prioritize in our practice. It is an integral part of establishing a relationship with you and your four-legged friend.
Whether this is your first trip to Sunvet or you are a returning client with a new adoptee, we look forward to welcoming you and your furry love-muffin to our Sunvet family with a new patient appointment.
New Patient Appointments
The new patient appointment includes time with Dr. Laurel one-on-one. During that time, she will review your animal’s history, listen to your concerns, perform a physical exam, and work with you to discover ways to be of service to your furry friend. The process can take up to an hour.
We believe that healthy living starts with good nutrition, so Dr. Laurel will review your animal’s diet to discover ways to tailor your dog’s or cat’s diet to suit his or her individual nutrition needs.
In addition, Dr. Laurel will use applied kinesiology to make specific recommendations for your animal and assess your dog or cat’s physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

The new patient appointment usually allows just the right length of time to make sure every aspect of your furry friend’s health and any symptoms or conditions are addressed, although you are always welcome to schedule more time for your appointment.
On occasion, with older or chronically ill four-legged companions, or if you yourself have in-depth questions, more time may be necessary. If this is the case, Dr. Laurel may ask you to schedule an additional 15- to 40-minute consultation.
Appointment Fee
The new patient appointment fee is $180.00 for adult animals who are 6 months old or older. For healthy puppies & kittens (younger than 6 months old), the fee is $120.
Fees for diagnostic work, labs, supplements, and additional services are calculated separately, and we accept cash, check, all major credit cards, and Care Credit (subject to credit approval).
New Patient Forms
We use the information provided in your new patient paperwork to ensure that you get the most out of your initial consultation and that we have accurate contact information for our records. Please read our Sunvet Policies Page and fill out and submit these online forms before your appointment.
New Client Info Form (if you are new to Sunvet)
If you are unable to complete the forms online in advance, no worries! We are happy to have you come to the clinic 15 minutes before your appointment and complete the forms in the office, or we can email you PDF versions of the forms.
What to Bring
An open heart and mind, your furry friend, all supplements or medications your animal is currently taking, and a list of the topics you want to address during the consultation.
In order to assess your dog or cat’s nutritional needs and sensitivities, Dr. Laurel will need to review the ingredients list for all foods and treats you feed your furry friend. Please email clear pictures of the ingredients lists to us before your appointment. You may also email us links where the ingredients lists can be read.
The nutritional consultation is an integral part of establishing holistic care for your love-muffin, and having the ingredients lists in advance allows us to prepare for your appointment and ensures you and Dr. Laurel make the most of your time together.
