Animal Compassion Awards and Run for the Paws!
San Diego, California prides itself on being a pet-friendly place.
Here’s an article about San Diego Humane Society’s new “Animal Compassion Awards” for individuals and businesses who stand out as animal supporters in that city.
How does your town stack up?
As for my city, Asheville, North Carolina, we have some great things going on for our animals and their human friends. One of them is a favorite organization of mine, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. Their goal is “to bring about a time when there are no more homeless pets in our community.” What a great mission!
If you’re looking for a great place to volunteer your time, check them out.
And if you’re looking for a fun pet event, don’t miss their “Run for the Paws 5K, 1 Mile Walk, and Wagging Wellness Fair” coming up Sunday, April 7, 2013. All of the proceeds go to help Brother Wolf’s important rescue work. Grab your fuzzy friend and let’s go!
