Hello, I just adopted my new fur baby yesterday and was wondering if I were a week or little less late on his second set of vaccinations, would that pose a problem health wise?
Tina, so happy for you to have a new fur baby! I am going to give you a general answer to your question about vaccinations, and yet, there are other considerations you may want to think about. In general, I wait until pups and kittens are 9 weeks old before giving them any vaccines. then, usually will revaccinate every 4 weeks for several doses. Also, my belief is that giving a 2 pound puppy the same dose as 150 pound adult dog just doesn’t make sense. Also, for people who have kittens, if the kitten will be an indoor cat, they should really think about whether they need to vaccinate at all. Hmmmmmm! A lot to think about really.
I would love to meet your furry friend and do a consult to go into more details and answer all of your questions! If you want to schedule one with me, please reach out.
