Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of an important physiological system called the craniosacral system, comprising the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch, generally no greater than five grams, or about the weight of a nickel, Dr. Laurel releases restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of your animal companion’s central nervous system.
Craniosacral therapy is beneficial for animals with acute misalignments that may be compressing the craniosacral system and for animals experiencing musculoskeletal discomfort, especially older arthritic animals.
When using CST in a distance energetic healing for animals, Dr. Laurel taps into your animal friend’s energetic body and works with the craniosacral system to increase flow and alignment.
To begin an in-office session, Dr. Laurel places her hand on the patient’s sacrum to ascertain the movement of the cerebral spinal fluid. She then gently moves the spine, targeting areas that feel restricted. A typical session lasts about 30 minutes. When done as part of our integrative treatment appointments, the treatment lasts 15 to 20 minutes.
