Billie grew up on a small farm in southeastern North Carolina where she developed a love and appreciation for all types of animals. Some of her fondest memories are of playing in fields as a child and rescuing or interacting with all sorts of creatures. The most interesting stories include a nest of baby rats from her grandfather’s barn, a tiny bunny she and her brother found in a freshly tilled field, her pet piglet, Penelope, or Black Beauty, a precious pygmy goat, named for the white diamond on her forehead.
These days she is proud to call Asheville home and to share this adventure with her wonderful partner and their sweet pup, Julep. Away from work, you can usually find her somewhere in a hammock with a good book, whipping up some magic in her kitchen, or stretching her creative muscles in her home studio. She enjoys studying mythology, baking, hand embroidery, knitting, well-crafted sentences, poetry, playing in the sunshine, yoga, and all things dragons.

In Chinese astrology, the rabbit is associated with good fortune and the ability to possess the powers of the moon. Born under this sign, I embrace the moon’s magical wisdom and embody the rabbit’s swiftness and adaptability, moving through life with joy and enthusiasm. As the White Rabbit led Alice to Wonderland, I too encourage myself and those around me to dig a little deeper and discover their own path towards a magical existence.
