At Sunvet Animal Wellness Clinic, we are doing everything we can to be here for you and your furry friend during these challenging times.
Until further notice, we will continue to offer curbside pickup and appointments 8:30am – 5pm Monday thru Thursday.
Only animals will be allowed inside for appointments for the foreseeable future.
We have a limited number of new patient appointments available each day, and we encourage existing clients to book their furry friend’s annual exams or routine procedures in advance as we are booking a couple weeks out.
Here’s what you need to know about the changes to our schedule and procedures…
Appointments
As North Carolina works to safely re-open businesses across the state, we continue to follow social distancing guidelines and restrict foot traffic by only allowing animals into the clinic for the foreseeable future.
Existing Patients
Appointments are available for existing patients in-office (only animals allowed inside) and via phone or Zoom.
We can see your dog or cat for their annual or semi-annual wellness exam, holistic consultations, integrative treatments, routine procedures, blood work, and/or vaccinations.
We are currently practicing curbside check-in for all office appointments. At your appointment, our vet assistant will meet you in the parking lot and escort your furry friend into the clinic. You will stay in your car and in the parking lot during the appointment. You can read more about our curbside check-in policies below.
When you schedule a Zoom appointment, we will email you a link to enter the virtual meeting room. Before your appointment time, you will need to click on the link and follow the prompts to download Zoom and set up your device for the call. You will need a camera and a microphone on your device to use the app.
Dr. Laurel continues to offer distance energetic healings and Qest4 meridian stress analysis.
New Patients
We have a limited number of new patient appointments available each week, and we are booking those appointments a couple weeks in advance.
To schedule a new patient appointment for your dog or cat, please email or call us. We will get you scheduled as soon as possible. We look forward to meeting you and your furry friend!
Curbside Check-in & Appointments
When you arrive at the clinic, please text us at 828-254-2221 to let us know you are here. A staff member will call you shortly after to complete the check-in process.
If you are unable to reach us by phone to check-in for your appointment, please do not leave us a voicemail or come to the door. We do not get voicemail messages instantly, so texting is the quickest and best way to let us know that you are here for your appointment.
We will take your payment information over the phone and then our vet assistant will meet you in the parking lot to escort your furry friend into the clinic. You will stay in your car in the parking lot during appointment.
To help limit our staff’s exposure, we ask all clients to please wear a mask during the curbside check-in and when interacting with the staff.
We will swap your dog’s leash for one of ours or wipe down the handle of your cat’s carrier.
Once your furry friend is in the clinic, Dr. Laurel will do the physical exam and call you on your cell phone to consult with you for the remainder of the appointment time. Please plan to stay in the parking lot and take notes during the appointment.
We will do any services you and Dr. Laurel determine your furry friend needs and then escort her back out to your car (this may be before your consultation ends). Once you and Dr. Laurel finish your consultation, our vet assistant will prepare any medicines, supplements, or products your furry friend needs and bring them out to you, along with an invoice.
We ask that all clients please wear a mask during the check-out process as well.
We will process your payment, using the credit card number you provide at check-in.
Staffing & Hours
We are open 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday thru Thursday to answer your questions, take orders for supplies and medications, and schedule appointments.
In order to comply with social distancing guidelines and limit the spread of COVID-19, we are restricting access to the clinic. Please place your orders in advance, and we will arrange shipping or curbside pick-up for your supplies. Only animals are allowed in the clinic until further notice.
As an additional protective measure, we are making changes to the way we manage appointments and process orders. These additional steps to help keep our staff and clients safe have increased the time it takes to finish some tasks.
Additionally, we are experiencing a high call volume in the clinic. Please text or email us whenever possible, and we will respond to you as soon as we can.
We are working diligently to care for your furry friends, and this means that occasionally all the phone lines are in use and/or all staff members are assisting with patients. We thank you for your patience and understanding for any delays you may experience.
Ordering Supplies & Medications
To place an order for supplies and/or medications, call or text us at 828-254-2221 or send an email to info@sunvetanimalwellness.com. You can also place orders in our online Critter’s Choice Store.
Please give us as much notice as possible when making refill requests or purchasing supplements.
We need a minimum of 3-4 hours notice to fill prescription requests and 2 hours notice to prepare orders for supplements and other products.
When you place an order, we will take your payment info over the phone and ready your products for curbside pick-up or shipping.
For curbside pick-up, we will give you an approximate ready time and ask you to text us at 828-254-2221 when you arrive. We will put your order on our railing outside or deliver it to your car, whichever you prefer.
We can also place your order in our lockbox so that you do not need to contact the office when you arrive and can pick up your order with more convenience.
We will be doing our best to take care of clients and patients as swiftly and smoothly as possible. However, due to the unpredictable nature of the situation, some delay in processing orders is possible.
Protecting Those at Risk
A collective response is essential to protecting our community at this time. We must each go above and beyond to be careful and considerate towards ourselves and others. Social distancing works best when everyone follows the precautions.
We ask all who are coming to us to notify us in advance if they feel they are at risk for COVID-19 and to take preventative measures for the safety of themselves and others.
If you have flu or cold-like symptoms such as a cough or fever, newly developed shortness of breath, or if you have recently traveled to an area outside the US with known coronavirus (COVID-19) or been in contact with someone who has traveled or contracted the virus, we ask you to please stay home.
We are actively monitoring information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local officials regarding the spread of COVID-19. Any changes or updates to our COVID-19 response plan will be updated on this page.
