For the Love of Dogs and Cats
Welcome to Sunvet Animal Wellness Clinic’s Valentine’s lovefest!
At our clinic, because we’re always surrounded by dogs and cats, sweetness abounds! If you have the privilege of knowing a cat or dog, you’ve experienced for yourself that our four-legged furries exude a pure, unconditional love. With this animal affection, they teach us, in every minute, to open, open, OPEN our hearts, to feel the interconnectedness of all that is.
Our darling, cutest bundles of canine delight just can’t help themselves as they bump us with their noses, entertain us with their tap dances, hug us with their eyes, embrace us with their full body wags, snuggle with us on the couch, sprint to our side, deluge us with their kisses, shadow our every move, deliver a favorite toy to our lap, bow in eager anticipation of a romp, doggie spoon us on the bed, echo our yawns in concurred relaxation, say goodbye in trusting calm, raise their eyebrows in anticipated greeting and dazzle us with their brilliant canine smiles. Oh yes, this truly is a love affair!
And then there’s the exquisite, endearing, squeeze-our-hearts feline fatale! Our feline flames bring us sometimes gruesome ‘gifts,’ rub their sweet little chins and lips on us to claim us as their own, give us their eye kisses as they deliberately hold our stare and slowly blink, roll on their backs in confidence to offer their luscious, silky bellies, parade around us with the tip of their tail casually flipping to and fro, favor us with love bites and loving licks, grace us with full-on body brushes, blast us with head butts, serenade us with their purrs, accompany us throughout the house and, perhaps, on walks and, of course, curl up on our lap in contentment and commence their kneading. To be graced by a cat’s devotion is truly delicious.
At Sunvet Animal Wellness Clinic we get liberal doses of wagging and purring love because our furry clients can sense that we are a warm, safe, comfortable and fun haven.
We’re so happy to reap the rewards of all that unconditional love that walks, minces, leaps, scurries and strides through our door every day.
Sunvet Animal Wellness Clinic wishes you a beloved Valentine’s Day. May it be filled with the realization that you are loved. Regardless of any deep humanoid relationships, if you are graced with a four-legged love muffin, know that you are cherished!
Sunvet’s Dog Love Poem
“The Sweetness of Dogs”
by Mary Oliver from Dog Songs
What do you say, Percy? I am thinking
of sitting out on the sand to watch
the moon rise. It’s full tonight.
So we go
and the moon rises, so beautiful it
makes me shudder, makes me think about
time and space, makes me take
measure of myself: one iota
pondering heaven. Thus we sit, myself
thinking how grateful I am for the moon’s
perfect beauty and also, oh! how rich
it is to love the world. Percy, meanwhile,
leans against me and gazes up
into my face. As though I were just as wonderful
as the perfect moon.
Sunvet’s Cat Love Poem
From “Jubilate Agno”
by Christopher Smart
For I will consider my Cat Jeoffry….
For in his morning orisons he loves the sun and the sun loves him.
For he is of the tribe of Tiger.
For the Cherub Cat is a term of the Angel Tiger.
For he has the subtlety and hissing of a serpent, which in goodness he suppresses.
For he will not do destruction, if he is well-fed, neither will he spit without provocation.
For he purrs in thankfulness, when God tells him he’s a good Cat.
For he is an instrument for the children to learn benevolence upon.
For every house is incomplete without him and a blessing is lacking in the spirit.
Shine on!
